Been away for a while. I was busy at Chuck Gammage Animation since school ended, but Amanda and I finished up there two weeks ago. Hopefully this is the start of me posting ever so slightly more over the summer.
These are some poses for one of the characters from the western story assignment. The poses were done at different times so there’s inconsistency in the line quality.
And this was the last assignment for our 3D class.
This is my first 3D model. It was made in Maya for a school assignment. It’s an interactive flash window, so hopefully everyone can use it (just drag left and right). If it looks messed up or weird on your screen let me know.
These are some sketches from my trip to Ottawa a whiiiiiile ago.
And this is my page in the Sheridan flipbook. Hopefully the book will be as nicely put together as last year’s.
These are some designs that I did for my second year story pitch. We had to choose between doing a western, victorian, or medieval story. Essentially my story is about two men that put their lives on the line to win the love of the same girl, who just happens to be the most hideous woman in all of the west. And thanks to Amanda Zima for helping with some colour stuff!
A sketch and a colour version of a fellow animation student.
This is the lip sync animation assignment. The sound might be a bit off because of youtube but I think it’s pretty close.
The dialogue is from a 1944 movie called “Arsenic and Old Lace” starring Cary Grant.
This is another cleaned up run cycle from the walk/run assignment. There are still things with it that I think I’ll change, but it might have to suffice.
These are some cafe drawings from September and October, I believe.
Also, over the summer at Chuck Gammage Animation, I worked on a mini TV series called ‘The Dark Years’ as an animator and in the character design department.

I know it’s a busy time of year but if you get a chance, check it out. You can see a preview and some screenshots on the National Film Board’s official “Dark Years” website.
The past month has been pretty busy. School’s on again and the Ottawa International Animation Festival ended about a week ago and I missed a lot of school because of it. It was definitely worth it though. Hopefully I can post the sketches from Ottawa soon, along with more school work.
This is my wave boat sack animation. The camera I used to shoot was filthy.
Here are some sketches from the past little while. I’m so ashamed that I haven’t posted in almost a month. In my defense, working at Chuck’s has kept me very busy, I’m away from home 11 or 12 hours a day. And I was sick two weeks ago and had to go to the hospital, so that ruined one free weekend. Anyhow, I have a few more things waiting in my sketchbook, impatiently. I’ll get those up as soon as I can.
